With tonight's FarmVille update, we're one day closer to the launch of Winter Wonderland for non-paying players, which should happen as early as tomorrow evening! In the meantime, take a look at the newest items released in the Winter Holiday theme in the store. Keep in mind, if you're going to jump straight into Winter Wonderland and wish to have these items on your new fourth farm, you'll want to hold off purchasing anything until that farm actually launches for you for free. That is, if you purchase them now, with no storage transfer available (as of this writing), you'll need to buy another set once you get onto your new farm. Now, onto the items!
Trees
Gingerbread Tree - 8 Farm Cash
Giant Gingerbread Tree - 14 Farm Cash
Candy Cane Tree - 6 Farm Cash
Giant Candy Cane Tree - 12 Farm Cash
Two sets of trees here, but both work in the same way that you'd expect. There's no reason to purchase the Giant version of either tree, as you can earn them for free via Mystery Seedlings (even if those seedlings are ones claimed from friends' wall posts).
Animals
Candy Cane Dog - 10 Farm Cash
Big Candy Cane Dog - 12 Farm Cash
Candy Pegacorn - 30 Farm Cash
Elf Polar Bear - 12 Farm Cash
Gingerbread Boar - 16 Farm Cash
Gingerbread Ram - 16 Farm Cash
Spotted Skunk - 2 million coins
To be specific, the two Candy Cane Dogs are pugs, if that helps you make up your mind as to whether or not to purchase them. Also, the Gingerbread Boar or Ram are the additions of the Gingerbread theme to both Pig and Sheep Breeding, respecitvely.
Buildings
Holiday Pet Store - 15 Farm Cash
Decorations
Candy Fountain -
Giant Mint Lollipop - 20,000 coins
Giant Mini Lollipop I - 20,000 coins
Candy Cane Gnome - 12 Farm Cash
Avatar Clothing
Candy Cane Outfit - 7 Farm Cash
Again, with all of these items being released in the game with a two week time limit, that gives you time to wait and purchase them once in Winter Wonderland if that's the farm that you'd ultimately like them to end up. It's possible that storage transfer will be unlocked between your Home Farm and Winter Wonderland, but in the meantime (where there's no guarantee of that ever happening), it's best to play it safe, don't you think?

FarmVille Winter Holiday Items: Candy Cane Gnome, Gingerbread Tree and more
FarmVille: Add a festive touch of snow and lights to your farms
Over the past few years, we've seen Zynga release Snow and Light features in FarmVille, giving users a chance to customize their farms by decorating only items of their choosing with either snow, lights or both for the winter / Christmas season. That tradition continues this year, as the various options for purchasing Snow and Lights have re-launched in the game's store.
As a reminder, if you already have unlimited Snow and Lights programmed into your game (either through purchasing it previously, or as a goal reward), it's still available in your game. However, if you take to Winter Wonderland to actually use it, your options are limited to decorating trees. That is, I've personally attempted to add snow and lights to buildings like the Holiday Log Cabin or General Store and they have yet to be programmed to allow it. Trees, however, can be decorated with snow on their branches and light strands throughout.
If you don't have this ability and wish to purchase it, you can do so from the Decorations portion of the game's store. There, you can purchase a single application of Snow or Lights for 1 Farm Cash (that is, it will put a layer of snow onto one item, and one item only, or a layer of Christmas lights, but not both). You can purchase a bundle of Snow and Lights for a single item for 2 Farm Cash, or unlimited Lights or Snow (individually) for 20 Farm Cash each. If you'd like the ability to add Lights and Snow (at the same time) to an unlimited number of items, you can also unlock that ability for 30 Farm Cash.
There's no telling whether or not we'll see this "unlimited" option given away for free yet again this year, so if you're anxious to cover your trees in snow and lights, feel free to simply pay the Farm Cash to do so. For those that want to wait, however, we'll make sure to let you know if another free opportunity comes around.

FarmVille Mystery Game (12/4/11): Silver and gold animals take the stage
Is it just me, or does every mention of "Silver and Gold" bring about memories of the 1964 version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer? Even if that's just me, I'm left humming that song in my head yet again, as this week's FarmVille Mystery Game has updated to include a set of silver and gold colored animals. This week's game costs 20 Farm Cash, but if you have any left-over darts from giveaways or redeeming Zynga Cards, of course you can use those to receive some animals for free.
As for the prizes this week, again, they're silver and gold in color, and while not all of them scream "Christmas" or even "Winter" when you look at them, they're still neat additions to your collection (assuming you collect animals, that is). Here's what's available to win:
Golden Bell Reindeer
Golden Dragon
Golden Pony
Golden Unicorn
Silver Bell Horse
Silver Fox
If you manage to win all six animals (remember, you could easily end up with duplicates, which would make this a much more expensive process), you'll walk away with a free Golden Phoenix as your seventh prize. This Phoenix actually isn't an "animal" in terms of the technical aspects of the game, as it's instead a decoration that can't be harvested. It will look neat on your farm, however.
As usual, this set of animals will only be available i the game for the next week, so make sure to throw your darts now to have the best chance of winning all seven items if that's your goal. Free darts have been released fairly frequently as of late, so we'll make sure to let you know when you next free chance at playing the Mystery Game comes around.
Will you play this week's Mystery Game? Which of the six animals are you hoping to win? Will you try to win all six?
