New FrontierVille Mystery Animal crate arrives in the market

FrontierVille keeps us guessing with a new Mystery Animal Crate that you can buy in the Market for 50 Horseshoes for the next two weeks. Every crate will contain one of three animals: Chinchilla (white or gray) a gecko (pink or blue) and a shaggy haired long-horned cow, better known as a Highland Cow (brown or gray).

FrontierVille Care Packages return, Special Deliveries for frontier folk

It was only a matter of time before FrontierVille got a hold of one of the most loved and hated features in Zynga games once again. They're called Care Packages and most of you will recognize them from when they were first introduced to FrontierVille almost two months ago. But for the uninformed, they're essentially FarmVille's Special Deliveries with a new name. These "smart" gifts, when received and opened, will contain one item that you need for either a Goal you're currently on or a building that's under construction.

Unlike Special Deliveries in FarmVille or Cafe World, Zynga claims Care Packages will only be around for a limited time in FrontierVille. Unfortunately, I've yet to see them appear in my Free Gifts page, which probably means they're slowly being rolled out to players. Regardless of whether you like them, expect a deluge of Care Packages in your Gift Box shortly.

FrontierVille Sneak Peek: Fanny and Bess Mystery Crates

The war between Fanny and Bess continues regardless of whether you set them up during the Valentine's Day Goals (a little flirtatious rivalry, perhaps?). FrontierVille Info has found two new Mystery Crates that are on their way to FrontierVille revolving all around our two favorite ladies, Bess and Fanny. It's unknown when exactly these Crates will be released or whether they're slowly rolling out already, but according to FrontierV, they will cost between 30 and 35 Horseshoes.
Bess Collection
The Bess and Fanny Collections each have a chance of dropping one of four items, which are essentially mirrors of one another. The Bess Collection includes a White Rabbit, Bess' Horse, Bess' Wagon and Bess' Outhouse.

Fanny Collection
If you hadn't noticed already, each Collection takes on the general theme of its character pretty heavily. The Bess Collection is largely red and orange-colored, while the Fanny Collection takes on blue and black almost exclusively. Fanny's items include a Black Raven, Fanny's Horse, Fanny's Wagon and Fanny's Outhouse. According to FrontierV, these items will be available for purchase through March 28, so I'd say these Crates are en route as of this writing.

Rumor: FrontierVille 37x37 Land Expansion is rolling out to pioneers

Land Grab!
Despite the Goals leaking early and our prediction of a March 1 release date, the 37x37 Land Expansion in FrontierVille has been MIA for six weeks now. However, according to FrontierVille Info, several players have reported that the expansion has arrived on their homesteads. If true, the expansion is coming in the midst of a Coyote invasion, but we have (almost) everything you need to know right here. So, don't come crying to us that you don't know what to do and get to expandin'.

Have you seen the 37x37 expansion on your homestead yet? When it finally launches, do you plan to take it head on or are you too busy fending off hungry Coyotes?

Old FrontierVille Collections offer new rewards, lots of debris

Likely inspired by the FarmVille team's complete overhaul of its Collections system, FrontierVille developers Zynga have made a change to Collections on the homestead as well. Now, a few older Collections are rewarding players with new, more useful items. However, they're useful in a roundabout way. You'll see behind the break.

This is what the affected Collections now reward players with:

    The Cow collection now gives Skulls
    The Clearing collection now gives Rocks
    The Wheat collection now gives Grass
    The Cabbage collection now gives Thorns


As you can see, they're helpful inadvertently. More debris means more chances to find Critters, which are often required in Goals requirements. So, think of it as a way to complete kill quests more easily. And who knows, perhaps this changes comes in preparation for some future set of Goals or content update.

FrontierVille Pioneer Camp: Everything you need to know

It looks like some travelers will be stopping by our Homesteads in FrontierVille, as Zynga has slowly started rolling out the Pioneer Camp to players this afternoon. This Pioneer Camp is a prelude to the upcoming Pioneer Trail expansion, and it introduces a new series of seemingly temporary characters to the game. The Camp itself is a building you must construct, and after, you'll be able to gather around the campfire with these weary travelers, learning stories about what to expect when the Pioneer Trail launches (but only if you help them out in some way first).

You'll know that this feature has rolled out to you when you see the window above, asking you to place the Pioneer Camp on your land. From there, you'll need to collect a series of parts to complete the Camp's construction, just as with other buildings. You'll need six each of Guylines, Kindling, and Tent Flies (all of which are earned through individual friend requests), along with five each of Tent Stakes, Weenie Roasts and Scary Camp Stories. These three items are earned via general wall posts that ask all of your friends to help you at once.

Once you complete the Campsite, you'll have access to helping up to five different travelers. As soon as you finish with one, you'll unlock the next story and the next traveler. Each traveler also brings with them a rare item, so you have extra incentive to finish helping all of these storytellers before the Pioneer Trail expansion launches, which will end this Pioneer Camp event, whether you've finished it or not.

Helping these travelers is accomplished through a series of six new goals, and we'll have a guide of those goals for you as soon as we can, so keep checking back. Pioneer Trail Capital One Goals: Everything you need to know

While we've already taken a look at the Capital One cross-promotions in FarmVille and CityVille, Pioneer Trail's version of the promotion is definitely the most complex, taking four goals to complete. The first of these goals introduces you to the Capital One Goat, who hopes that you can help him find his lost band mates, and bring their bandstand to life on your Homestead. That's right - there's a new building to create as part of this cross-promotion, along with the four goals. Here's a complete rundown of the event.

Sterling the Bloodhound

    * Collect one Bandstand Upgrade Part
    * Visit Capital One Facebook Page
    * Craft Sterling's Guitar in the Bandstand


First things first, the Bandstand can be purchased inside the store for under 10 coins if you have the discount enabled in your game. You won't have to whack a frame or collect items to create a functioning Bandstand; however, you will have to collect these parts to upgrade the building. This is done by clicking on the Bandstand and then clicking "Upgrade" on the menu that appears. From here, it's the familiar process of asking your friends for items.

You'll need to collect 10 each of Stage Lights, pieces of Band Merchandise and Concert Wristbands, all of which are earned through general news posts, while 15 each of Sandbags and Scaffolding are earned by sending out individual requests to your friends for help. The final item - the five Band Groupies - are earned by completing these new goals, as they'll be earned automatically. That being the case, you don't have to be in too great of a rush to collect the rest of the ingredients, as you literally can't complete it anyway.

As for finishing this first goal, you'll need to head inside your Bandstand to craft items as you would in other buildings. From there, you'll need three Guitar Fretboards and five Guitar Strings to actually craft the guitar. These are both new items, requiring you to tend goats or simply ask your friends to help you earn them, among other tasks. Finishing the entirety of this first goal will give you 250 XP, Sterling the Bloodhound and 250 coins.

Toonie the Bear

    * Chop 10 Trees on your Neighbors' Homesteads
    * Feed 30 Goats on your Homestead
    * Craft Toonie's Upright Bass in the Bandstand


Again, you'll need to head inside the Bandstand to craft Toonie's Upright Base, which requires three Tailpieces and five Bass Strings. Again, you can ask your friends to send you the Bass Strings, and can craft the Tailpieces, also inside the Bandstand.

Once you finish this second goal, you'll receive 500 XP, Toonie the Bear and 500 coins.

Penny the Bullfrog

    * Feed 30 Geese on your Homestead
    * Have or Collect 3 Termites
    * Craft Penny's Banjo in the Bandstand


Again, just head inside the Bandstand to see the parts you need to craft Penny's Banjo (in this case the Banjo Pot and Banjo Pick), and then make sure you have three termites from the Oak Tree collection to finish this one off. For doing so, you'll receive 750 XP, Goat and Penny (the two remaining band members) and 5 Band Groupies. Remember those Groupies that you needed to complete the upgrade of the Bandstand? There you go.

Entertainment, Not Food

    * Collect the Upgraded Bandstand Bonus Once
    * Collect 10 Wildberries
    * Harvest 50 Corn


Like a regular building, the Bandstand has a daily bonus that can be collected, so complete that and these other simple (albeit time-consuming) tasks and you'll be golden. You'll receive 1,000 XP, a Rockin Horse (a new mount for your avatar that wears sunglasses) and 1,000 coins for finishing this final goal.

All told, we're not given an expiration date for when this cross-promotion and these goals will leave the game, but your best bet would be to finish everything off as soon as possible just to make sure you don't miss out on anything. Have fun!
